slut" refers to a person who embraces their sexuality and revels in it. We are praised for exuding our sexuality. The term slut does not have this same meaning in society at large where it is a badge meant to shame, and is generally a negative statement about one's morals.

Take note of the
SlutWalk campaigns taking place throughout North America and it's expanding to the
UK. The movement aims to combat 'rape culture' and blaming victims of sexual assault and rape. Ours is a society that teaches "don't get raped" rather than "don't rape". SlutWalk promotes that it is okay to embrace your sexuality, and that women should not be judged or shamed for being sexual beings.

How did the SlutWalk movement begin?
On January 24th, 2011, a representative of the Toronto Police gave shocking insight into the Force’s view of sexual assault by stating:
“women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized”. This offensive statement galvanized people to appropriate the term slut and educate the public on the harmful effects of stereotyping especially in the case of sexual assault.

Tuesday, about noon, I was driving home from a funeral with my wife, and I spotted a woman getting out of car wearing high-heel boots like the ones on the left in your picture. It didn't seem the right moment to speculate on where she was going dressed like that.
Usually, my wife is the one to notice footgear, not me.
